Outdoor Oasis: DIY Backyard Transformation

Spring One Room Challenge Week 8: FINAL REVEAL of our Outdoor Oasis!

WOW!!! Who’s ready for the reveal?! These 8 weeks have flown by, and our outdoor space is officially ready just in time for summer! For this being my first One Room Challenge experience, I can honestly say I was addicted to the challenge and deadlines! It had me motivated and I love the finished product!
Below are reveal photos, links/sources/reviews to all products purchased for this space, and links to all the projects we did to complete the renovation. We can’t wait to cozy up by the fire table with a drink in hand, do work on the beautiful egg chair, and have friends and family over with our new dining area! We couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to comment below, or ask on my Instagram page!

The Lounge Area

(Click on each highlighted word for a link to the product page)

The Sectional: We purchased this Tofino Collection from Canadian Tire and we are obsessed. It comes in different pieces (Corner, Middle, Ottoman) to mix & match your own design. Our deck only had room for these 4 pieces but I hope to collect more one day when we expand it!

The Egg Chair: Probably my favourite new item of the backyard. This Allen & Roth Wicker Chair is such great quality – I could hangout in it all day. I’m not lying when I say it is the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in. It’s also much larger than we thought which is a bonus!

The Fire Pit: We love this round concrete bowl shaped fire pit from Sunbeam! It’s reasonably priced compared to others I looked up, and it seriously looks beautiful at night!

The Rug: This gorgeous outdoor rug is from RugsUSA called “Light Brown Iris Totem Flatweave Area Rug”

The Cushions: These are meant to be outdoor cushions! Love the hint of black to tie the space together. I get all my cushions and inserts from H&M Home. I can’t link because they’re out of stock at the moment!

The String Lights: The actual ones we purchased were from Costco, they still have them in stores! If you have a membership, click here for them. These ones I linked here are a close second.

The Side Table: It’s from the Real Canadian Superstore from last year! Used it as an indoor table but I like it outside.

The Wicker Planters: The ones I have are from Homesense so they aren’t linkable, found these that are similar but pricier.

The White Lanterns: Love these & the detailed patterns they have on them!

The Pitcher: Love the wicker addition to this pitcher!

The Serving Tray: Found this gem for a very reasonable price!

The Dining Area

The Dining Table: I absolutely love that this looks like SUCH real wood, but is actually metal! No yearly maintenance is required. We love that it’s round and fits 6 people comfortably!

The Dining Chairs: I don’t usually use too much colour but I was just drawn to these chairs! The sage green and white combo is beautiful, and they are VERY comfortable and sturdy.

The Patio Umbrella: I got this when it was on sale! I was about to buy one on Wayfair for $100 more, but so happy I went with this one. It’s the PERFECT size for the 6-person table we bought above & I love the wood tone frame with white top. It looks like it’s a matching set with the table, the “woods” match so well!

The Umbrella Base: Love this simple black metal base! It was one of the best prices I could find that had a sleek look to it!

The Bamboo Plates: Loved the design of these surprisingly as I am afraid of colour!! They’re super cute and perfect for entertaining.

The Exterior Candelabra Wall Light: Blown away by the price for this modern and stunning light fixture!

The Wine Glasses: Love the gold rim, my absolute favourite glasses!

The Drinking Glasses: Such a great price for these cute everyday glasses.

The Beverage Dispenser: I got mine from Homesense but I linked a similar one!

The Bar Cart: Facebook Marketplace find

The Herb Box: Such a cute wooden box for our herbs!

Project Before/Afters

DIY Privacy Screen: Love the pattern we chose. Super easy & affordable way to amp up a patio space

Painting Exterior Window & Door Trim Black: The proper paint and technique needed

DIY String Light Poles: We needed to make two to attach our string lights to!

DIY Outdoor Artwork: The art you see hung on the privacy screen I made myself!

Absolutely gorgeous outdoor space! I love the white stain on the deck and the natural color of the furniture, it goes so well together.
