Baby Boy Gender Neutral Nursery

My favourite room in our house! When we found out we were having a boy, I knew I didn’t want all the bright blues and bold colours in the nursery, but I also didn’t want it to just be whites and beiges everywhere either! I think we did a good job of mixing some fun muted colour in (with the wallpaper), but still keeping this space gender neutral with all of the wood tones and whites. We added beadboard and new trim around the entire room and a built-in DIY shelf behind the door for extra storage (that was an IKEA hack-check my insta stories for the details).

Name Banner: Love the size of this & love supporting a local shop! Also loved that she had font colour options as post are just black.

Diaper Bag: Stylish & practical, comes with backpack straps or long over the shoulder strap with multiple compartments. Easy access cell phone pocket in the back too! Also bought the pacifier holder and changing mat!

Wooden Play Arch & Hanging Toys: Bought them from CocoVillage when they were on sale for 40% off, love the quality

ABC Rattan Letters

Rocking & Swivel Chair: This is from Monte Design and truly one of the most comfortable chairs I’ve sat in. The quality is amazing, but the comfort is what sold me! It’s been a game changer for breastfeeding. Plus, you can customize your chair – we went with the gold base and chose the shade “Dune” for the chair!

Light Fixture: This is such a great price point for a light like this. Love the beads and extra texture it gives the space.

Area Rug: I absolutely love the thickness and softness of this rug. It feels so nice on the feet and will be nice for Nico to play on when he’s a bit older – the pattern is fun too!

Floating Shelves – These are actually a Wal-Mart find! I couldn’t find the link online but they were about $25 each in store and so easy to install!

Roman Shades: So easy to pull up and down and doesn’t have any strings that could be chocking hazards for little ones.

Artificial Fiddle Fig Tree: We’ve had this for a while and I felt like something was missing behind the chair so I added it to the nursery – greenery works well in any space.

Side Table – This was a Real Canadian Superstore find!

Pouf: I might switch this out but I shopped our home and we’ve had this for a while!

Lamp: A Homesense find, love the gold with the marble base. Matches the gold on the base of the chair.

Crib: LOVE the warm wood tone on this crib. It’s a 3 in 1 so raises to different heights and can be converted to a toddler bed. I loved that it was GreenGuard Gold Certified so I know the wood is chemical-free. Can’t wait to put him in here when he is a bit older!

Mattress: This was a splurge but chose the Newton Baby for it’s breathability and it’s hypoallergenic/non-toxic materials (It reduces the risk of suffocation)

Crib Sheet: With the type of mattress we bought you actually don’t need a sheet, but the only ones recommended are Muslin sheets as the material is also breathable.

Wallpaper: This was one of the first things I added to my moodboard! I knew I wanted wallpaper above my beadboard and with the peel & stick it is so easy to swap out if we are blessed with more children in the future. LOVE this pattern/design of paint brush strokes and fell in love with the colour.

Swan: Such a cute floating swan to go with the hot air balloon next to it.

Llama: From CocoVillage but looks to be discontinued

Baby Pennant Bunting: Love the neutral colours of this one.

Missing: Cloud! I want to add a DIY cloud to where the swan and hot air balloon are to make it a group of 3.

“Wildest Dreams” Sign – This was actually a DIY that my friend did for me, but I have linked a similar one from Etsy. I didn’t want it to say Sweet Dreams like all the other signs I was finding – so here is some Taylor Swift inspo and hoping all of his “wildest dreams” come true!

Dresser: We’ve had this dresser for a while and love that we got to use it for this space! We added wooden legs to it from Amazon.

Knobs: The knobs on the dresser were originally black but I swapped it out for these rattan ones to match the wood tones in the room and give it more texture.

Changing Pad: This has been the best purchase out of everything! The material is amazing, you just use a baby wipe to wipe it clean and it’s portable so I can move it anywhere in the house even the floor! Highly highly recommend.

Hot Air Balloon: Kind of a splurge but kind of the cutest thing ever. I bought a light from IKEA to put inside of it and have it light up at night!

Mirror: This is an old IKEA mirror that we had – doesn’t look like they carry it anymore, sorry!

Bear Basket: Found this basket at Homesense and put all of his stuffies in it!

Ubbi Diaper Pail : Has been amazing so far at keeping the smell out! We heard great things about this one over the Diaper Genie.

Rainbow Cushion Cover: Love this pillow from H&M Home

Name Sweater : The first thing I purchased when we chose his name! Took the cutest birth announcement photo with him in it. Loved supporting this small shop!

Teddy Bear: A jellycat brand – one of the softest stuffies I’ve ever felt!

Wooden Disc: Thought this was cute to add to his announcement photo!

Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I missed! We have been using this setup for about a month now and love it! Special shoutout to the changing pad and rocking char they are amazing! Check out my videos on Instagram & TikTok for a more in depth walk through of the space
